Letter From the C.E.O.
Dear Friends,

I believe Canada is under siege on all fronts to become a firmly secular nation; more so now than ever before. Therefore it has never been more critical for the light of the local church to shine brilliantly over and above the ‘spiritual choices’ being offered to unwary souls searching for truth.

I am convinced that if you look at churches that stand out as inviting, welcoming beacons of Christ’s love, you will find a church with a committed and empowered volunteer force.
People today are hungry to belong and be part of a larger dream; they want to serve and know they are making a difference. There is nothing quite like a church full of volunteers equipped and empowered to serve in their area of spiritual giftedness; each person maximizing their potential in serving the Kingdom.

If you are a pastor or a church leader in any capacity, could I encourage you to read Bill Hybels’ The Volunteer Revolution? Those in leadership positions too often feel they must do it all. However, the truth is that we must equip and empower many. Our churches will never achieve maximum potential unless we are willing to identify the spiritual gifts within the congregation, and empower and equip ordinary people to achieve extraordinary results.

The greatest example of one who equipped, encouraged and ultimately empowered His volunteers for the most important role of all time was Jesus.

How fully are you equipping, encouraging and empowering your church leadership to reach the world for Jesus Christ? The stakes have never been higher, the timing never more critical. May God give you the courage to stay the course as you lead during this crucial time in the history of our nation.

In His service,

G. John Baergen
Executive Director / C.E.O.
