S3 - Speakers
Bill Hybels is the founding and senior pastor of Willow Creek Community Church and chairman of the board for the Willow Creek Association. He convened The Leadership Summit in 1995 following a God-given prompting to help develop the spiritual gift of leadership in the local church and it is now a global event in over 50 countries and 250 sites. A highly sought-after conference speaker on issues related to Christian leaders, Hybels is the best-selling author of more than 20 books including Courageous Leadership and Axiom: Powerful Leadership Proverbs..

Jeff Lockyer serves as the lead pastor at Southridge Community Church,
St. Catharines, ON. He works closely with the board of elders, providing the link between their governance and the day-to-day development of the church’s ministry. His primary responsibilities are the supervision and support of the management team, as well as providing messages in weekend services. Jeff and his wife Becky have two boys, Owen and Simon.

Bill will be joined by other Canadian church leaders that have significant leadership experience. It is part of our vision to share the skill, strategy and stories of Canadian leaders, so join us in celebrating what God is doing in and through local leaders.

We have gathered a dynamic group of influential leaders to facilitate the Group Discussions.

Steve Berg
Conference Minister, British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, BC
Steve has been in pastoral leadership for 30+ years, most recently as lead pastor at South Abbotsford Church. Since 2004, he has served the churches and ministries of the Mennonite Brethren in British Columbia as Conference Minister.

Born to a Canadian pastor’s family, he was deeply impacted by his parent’s faithful and humble service to Christ in small town Prairie churches. “My dad never used the word ‘missional,’ but he had a profound understanding of the mission of the church which he taught all of us kids. As a result, all five of us are now in pastoral leadership.”

In mid-career, Steve faced a personal burnout depression. Through this brokenness and healing, he is now passionate to lead pastors and churches to healthy spirituality.

Steve is a graduate of Tabor College and Bethel Seminary. Steve has been married to Karen for 35 years. They have four wonderful children and five fabulous grandchildren.

Cam Roxburgh
Pastor, National Director of Forge Canada and Church Planting Canada, Vancouver, BC
Cam planted a church in the inner city of Burnaby, BC. After seeing its neighbourhood transformed, Southside Community Church has grown to four congregations in four neighbourhoods. Out of this, Cam has developed the Forge Canada Missional Training Network which helps churches and leaders across the country to become missional and see neighbourhood transformation in their neighbourhoods, and multiply into new neighbourhoods. Cam has also serves as the National Director of Church Planting Canada.

Cam has the privilege of speaking internationally at conferences and schools. He has also consulted with a number of churches and denominations, and served on committees for the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada. His great passion remains for Christ working in a local community of followers of Jesus to see neighbourhood transformation.

Cam has been married to Shelley for 21 years. Together they have four children and live in Surrey, BC.

Mark Buchanan
Author, Lead Pastor, New Life Community Baptist Church, Duncan, BC

He is also a writer and conference speaker. His books included: Your God is Too Safe; Things Unseen; The Holy Wild; The Rest of God; and Hidden in Plain Sight.

Mark is married to Cheryl and they have three children, Adam, Sarah and Nicola. They are all involved in ministry and love to bike and walk together. Mark also fishes, scuba dives, gardens, and reads widely.

Tim Day
Senior Pastor, The Meeting House, Brampton, ON
Tim Day is the senior pastor of The Meeting House, a multiple site church in the Greater Toronto Area that grew from 180 to 5,000 in the speed of light. He serves as co-leader with Bruxy Cavey (teaching pastor) with a focus on implementing the vision and leadership development through the staff leadership team.

Tim’s greatest passions are mentoring leaders and developing and implementing strategic vision. His greatest ministry challenge has been developing a leadership culture that can achieve the vision for a rapidly growing, Christ-following community within a post-modern, multi-cultural urban centre while at the same time deepening the community’s spiritual maturity and health.

Tim, his wife Liz, and three children, Nathan, Rachel and Joshua, live in Burlington, Ontario.
